Annandale Millwork Allied Systems deploys iLevel NextPhase
New computer-based framing system eliminates waste, saves labor costs
WINCHESTER, Va. (June 15, 2011) — Homebuilders can reduce labor costs, eliminate waste and home site cleanup time thanks to a new framing construction process from Annandale Millwork Allied Systems.
With the iLevel NextPhase JobPack software, Annandale Millwork Allied Systems pre-cuts framing components, such as joists and beams, using the homebuilder’s original blueprints. After making a three-dimensional model of the blueprints, Annandale Millwork Allied Systems uses computerized precision to cut the components, which are pre-packed, color-coded and transferred to the home site.
“Each JobPack is delivered to the site with a set of color-coded sheets that correspond with the pre-cut floor framing system, eliminating errors and expediting the building process,” said Gene Frogale, co-president of Annandale Millwork Allied Systems. “The new system reduces production time, improves site safety and minimizes theft because it results in fewer materials left on site during down times.”
The iLevel software also eliminates guesswork on the job site when working with mechanical runs. The system also pre-cuts framing components with holes to accommodate plumbing, electrical and mechanical system installations. The software even marks the wood components to ensure accurate placement of nails and screws on the job site.
The net result is less wasted product on the home site, which results in reduced disposal fees paid to the local landfill after the home is completed. In addition, the greatest impact the homebuilder reaps from iLevel is the reduction in labor costs and framing time because there is lno cutting performed on site.
